অ্যানথ্র্যাক্স কি, কেন?

by M R Karim Reza on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 12:23pm.

Blueprint of Jamat & Reorganisation of National University

Bangladesh Jamat E Islami is a cadre based political party & has a longterm vision & strategy to achieve thier ideology than any other party in Bangladesh.A large number of Jamat undercover activists & intellectuals have been engaging themself within other major political parties since 1975 like the leftist parties in the past.

When BNP-Jamat alliance assumed power in 2001,BNP with its front organizations & activists were busy to earn illigal cash benefits & assets but Jamat had a differnt plan. They placed their cadres, like minded person & well wishers in every public offices & institutions with a vision to exercise power even when other party runs the government.Thats what the present Awami League led government is experiencing in their effort to establish pro-liberation ideology & set the nation in the right rack.

Like other sectors Jamat has a plan to regulate the education syststem of the country. They targetted National University to take administrative control of this institution.Jamat planned to get control of college based graduate & post graduate education of Bangladesh.National University regulates these affiliated colleges by nominating governing body, selection of teaching staffs & academic programs. These colleges also play vital role in the local politics in respective area.Jamat also planned to bring gradute & postgradute Madrasha education under NU.In the process Jamat successfully managed to nominate Professor Aftab Ahmad of Dhaka University as the VC of National University in 2004

In April 2004,the single largest recruitment scandal in the history of Bangladesh was started to accomodate over 1500 political cadres in NU & iplementation of a bluprint started.BNP got only a little share of the process.Huge number of unnecessary & bizzaire post were created illigaly to accomdate this recuited personnals, most of them from Madrasha based educational background.Progressive & pro liberation minded persons were made either OSD or humilited to quit their job. These plan was succesfully finished by the help of then president of NU officers association & an undercover Jamat leader Enamul Karim who managed to control inernal agitation , Jamat think tank & recruited teacher Abu Yousuf, then acting registrar Shamsheruzzaman & Deputy regitrar Shahidur Rahman.Prfessor Khandker Mustahidur Raman, then VC of Jahangirnagar University & a syndicate member of NU,Professor Syed Abul Kalam Azad, then Treasurer Of NU,teacher of Marketting dept. of DU played vital role in the selection process. When Media targetted this procedure & the scandal was partially exposed, then government removed Aftab to divert media attention & nominated Prof. Wakil Ahmed as a puppet VC of NU & the process of giving validity of recruitment was finiished silently.Former chairman of University Grants Commission,Late Professor Asaduzzaman filled a investgation report to BNP govt about the recruitment scandal & recommanded to take action against the process. But then government didnt took any measure to comply his recommandations. The caretaker government also tried to investigate the whole process but then Jamat got blessings of Brig.Amin & Bari duo of DGFI to leave the task unfinished.Chronologically Prof Syed Rashidul Hasan & Prof. Mofakharul Islam acted as VC of NU but did nothing to rescue this national institution from the grab of anti-liberation forces as everything was going as Jamat planned.

Jamat has been spending a huge amount of fund to fuilfil their blueprint since 2006 till date. The present government nominated administration of NU did nothing significant to reorganise NU till date.Professor Khandker Mustahidur Rahman now an advisor of BNP is still a syndicate member of NU,heading different committe to investigate the irregularities commited by them(during 2003-2008)! One of the Pro-VC nomited by caretaker government,a jamat minded person is stiil working at NU.It seems Jamat still contolling NU by money & their cadres as most of the department is headed by their cadres or well wishers.

If irregularities commited during 2004-2008 period at NU & the reruitted personnals are left unaccountable, the blue print of Jamat to controll the college based graduate & post gradute education of our country will be fuifilled & no doubt this will help them to achieve thier goal as a political party & one of the task of their blueprint to gain control of independent state Bangladesh will be finished.

May Day (Internatinal Workers Day) :Retrospective & Scenario of workers in Bangladesh

May Day or International Workers' Day is the commemoration of the Haymarket massacre in Chicago in 1886, when Chicago police fired on workers during a general strike for the eight hour day, killing several demonstrators and resulting in the deaths of several police officers. In 1889, the first congress of the Second International, meeting in Paris for the centennial of the French Revolution and the Exposition Universelle, following a proposal by Raymond Lavigne, called for international demonstrations on the 1890 anniversary of the Chicago protests. That was so successful that May Day was formally recognized as an annual event at the International's second congress in 1891. The May Day Riots of 1894 and May Day Riots of 1919 occurred subsequently. In 1904, the International Socialist Conference meeting in Amsterdam called on "all Social Democratic Party organizations and trade unions of all countries to demonstrate energetically on May First for the legal establishment of the 8-hour day, for the class demands of the proletariat and for universal peace.
The first May Day celebration in Indian subcontinent was organised in Madras by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan on May 1, 1923. This was also the first time the red flag was used in India.
In countries other than the United States and Canada, resident working classes sought to make May Day an official holiday and their efforts largely succeeded.
In the United States, however, the official Federal holiday for the "working man" is Labor Day in September. The first Labor Day celebration was held on September 5, 1882 but this was opposed by other labor unions who wanted it to held on May Day. After the Haymarket Square riot in May, 1886, President Cleveland feared that commemorating Labor Day on May 1 could become an opportunity to commemorate the riots. Thus he declared 1st Monday of Sepember as Labor day in 1887. In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed May 1 both as Loyalty Day and as Law Day. Each year, the sitting president proclaims these observances on May 1.

In Bangladesh the day,1st May ia an official holiday but the spirit of the day is so far unaccomplished. We have entered into the arena of industrialization & tody the backbone of our economy stands by virtue of low paid working class both in agriculture & industrial sector. Most of the low paid workers are working in the apparel industry & are mainly women.Owner of these industries are earning, depositting money & maitaining lavish lifestyle by depriving these workers.Whenever there is a protest we smell a conspiracy theory behind but for how long the underlying desatisfaction of workers regarding their salary, overtime & hostile working environment will be neglected? Grivance of the working community may help some conspirators to fuilfil their target of creating anarchy.
Government should immediately ensure, enforce & monitor the facilities, the factory owner promises to a buyer for the benefit of worker. These are sufficient salary & overtime, friendly & hyegenic working place as well as proper health service. As most of the worker in apparel industry are women, maternal & child health should get priority.

Otherwise the day is approaching when history of Haymarket massacare will repeat here in Bangladesh.

Nabobarsho (Bengali New year) :only Bengali National Festival ?

Pahela Boishakh has already turned as the only national festival for peoples of Bangladesh, the symbol of cultural unity without distinction between class or religious affiliations. Now this is the biggest event in a calender year of Bangladesh. Moreover this is the only common festival for ethnic Bengali's, living anywhere in the world.
King Shoshangko of ancient Bengal, who ruled approximately between 590 CE and 625 CE, is credited with starting the Bengali era though the celebrations of Pohela Boishakh started from the great Akbar's reign. Fatehullah Shirazi, a renowned scholar and astronomer, formulated the Bengali year on the basis of the Hijri lunar and Hindu solar calendars. The new Fasli San (agricultural year) was introduced on 10/11 March 1584, but was dated from Akbar's ascension to the throne in 1556. The new year subsequently became known as Bônggabdo or Bengali year. It was customary to clear up all dues on the last day of Choitro. On the next day, or the first day of the new year, landlords would entertain their tenants with sweets. On this occasion there used to be fairs and other festivities.
On this occasion there used to be fairs and other festivities. In due course the occasion became part of domestic and social life, and turned into a day of merriment. The main event of the day was to open a halkhata or new book of accounts. Many old festivals connected with New Year's Day have disappeared, while new festivals have been added. With the abolition of the zamindari system, the punya connected with the closing of land revenue accounts has disappeared. Kite flying in Dhaka and bull racing in Munshiganj used to be very colorful events. Other popular village games and sports were horse races, bullfights, cockfights, flying pigeons, and boat racing. Some festivals, however, continue to be observed; for example, bali (wrestling) in Chittagong and gambhira in Rajshahi are still popular events. This festival rooted in the rural culture of Bangladesh, has become integral part of city culture. The historical importance of Pohela Boishakh in the Bangladeshi context may be dated from the observance of the day by Chhayanat in 1965. In an attempt to suppress Bengali culture, the Pakistani Government had banned poems written by Rabindranath Tagore & protesting this move, Chhayanat opened their Pohela Boishakh celebrations at Ramna Park with Tagore's song welcoming the month (Esho he boishak, esho esho............). Later, in the mid- 1980s the Institute of Fine Arts added color to the day by initiating the Boishakhi parade, which is much like a carnival parade. Pohela Boishakh is really about celebrating the simpler, rural roots of the Bangladesh. As a result, more people can participate in the festivities together without the burden of having to reveal one's class, religion, or financial capacity. There should be a festival bonus for the service holders as they get in other occasions(Eid,Puja,,,,,,,,,,) to celebrate this event in a more festive manner. Hope Pohela Boishakh continues to be celebrated in the same manner as it connects all ethnic Bengalis irrespective of religious and regional differences.

Cardiac diseases & interventions:Socioeconomic context of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable country as per prevalence of cardiac diseases.Roughly to understand Cardiac diseases may classify into congenital(from the time of birth) & acquired.
Many factors attibutes to acquired types mainly related to lifestyle & preventable in many ways.Proper treatment of high blood pressure with drugs & by changing life style can prevent Coronary(blood vessel of heart) arterial blocks.
Treament of heart diseases are done by changing lifestyle, drugs & by interventions.
Cardiac diseases those require mechanical or surgical intervention are mainly, blocks in tha coronary arteries, problems in the tansmission of electical waves in heart& some congenital heart diseases.
The main theme of this writing is with the cost of interventional procedures in cardiac diseases & its feasiabilty in the socioeconomic context of Bangladesh.Treatment cost of this procedures are composed of mainly hospital cost, fees of the specialist & device those are needed to fit according to diseases.

In public tertiary(3rd level) hospitals first two cost are within the limits of common people but the burden is with cost of the device or tools(Stent, pacemaker).
These device or tools are imported by some agents from companies abroad & price in most cases are out of reach of common people.
The importing agengies have been giving huge commission to some specialists & sponsoring their so called overseas conferences(mainly pleasure trips)regularly which is also responsible for the high cost.
Doctors should practise their professional ethics & morality. If it is impossible to manufactue these device & tools,Govenment may import & ensure proper marketting.
NGOs may come with community health insurence program which may help common people to meet their treatment cost.
Otherwise the proper treatment of cardiac diseases in Bangladesh will not be ensured.

Politics & professionals:Scenario of doctors in Bangladesh

In a democratic governence there is no alternative of politics.Every political group must have their own ideology to run the state & they should try their level best to implement their manifesto after getting verdict of the majority of citizen. The democratic systems allows the politicians to fuifil their ideology from the top of the system.Public servents acts according their directions.
Every individual voters may vote according their choice between parties, that does not mean he must belong to a particular party that he votes .We experienced a vast majority of our public servants declares their political idendtity in a malafide intention for many years.Professionals like doctors, engineers, agriculturist also following the same track, even in the judiciary too.

Now what is the intentions of doing so? Mostly follow hippocatic means only for personal intersts. When political loyality determines the fitness over skill & merit, the systems can not act as efficiantly as it could be.As a politically conscious professional I discovered, most of the doctors leading the political wings of a party are doing so because of their lacking eitther in skill or academic qualifications in respective speciality even though they dont believe the idiology of that political party, only to get illegal benefits.
Most of the junior doctors are getting involved under the leadership of this corrupt professional leader only just to get admission in a course, for a good posting or for an academic posting.Does any patient benefit results from this groupings?Simply think a doctor attending a patient after asking his political identity, should we wait to see that horrible scenario?
Politicians should realise this indirectly hampers to implement their goals by giving benefit of these hippocrat professionals & therby suffers the nation to as a whole.
I realise in athe public health sector there should be regular promotion like other public cadre service gets.It should be ensured that a doctor is not retiring in the same post he entered in the service. If someone becomes a secretary or a chief engineer without acquiring any further education why not the doctors.Off course qualification should be mandatory for academic & clinical promotions/posting.
There may be a different organogram for those who doesnt enroll into further education, this will encourage doctors to stay at their place of jobs rather then getting involved in DG based corruption posting & promotions which is the prime reason of this political grouping.
Like judicial system there should be a separate pay scale for doctors working in public health system.
In our country Private hospitals are going ahead targetting rich groups .It is the poor people who are suffering & will suffer if we can not break this system.Good politicians always think most about the poorer section of the nation because that is their goal todo politics to upgrade this section & bring sustainable development.

Doctors Day:Retrospective

I realise we have been trying to prevent or get rid of diseases from the very begeining of human civilzation.Scintists & professionals of medical arena are working sincerly to ease the suffereings of the patient.Once we fell sick, pain is the most common symptoms we experince in the course of disease process.can you emagine a surgery without anesthesia now a days! That what surgeons used to do before March 30,1842.On this day in 1842 Dr.Crawford W Long MD of Georgia,USA first ever administered ether anesthesia to perform a neck surgery on his patient James Venable. Thus the era of painless surgery started.Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond first thought to honor doctors as a recogniton for their services to the mankind & the day was first observed on March 30,1933.This is a symbol of doctor-patient relationship. As a doctor Dr. Long achieved a great milestone to alleviae sufferings of the patient.Doctors have been trying continuously to alleviate human sufferings since the start of human civilization.Let us celebrate International Doctors Day in a spirit to develop a patient freindly healthcare service in our country.
